About Shauts University
Shauts University Gate Number 2 in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, is surrounded by an urban and semi-urban landscape where university grounds, open spaces, roadside vegetation, and pockets of greenery create suitable habitats for a variety of common and resident birds. The mix of built-up areas and vegetation provides feeding, nesting, and roosting opportunities for species that have adapted well to human-dominated environments.
The area also benefits from its proximity to small water bodies, grassy patches, and agricultural or open landscapes around Prayagraj, allowing both terrestrial and wetland-associated birds to occur. Such university and city-edge habitats can be particularly interesting for birdwatching as they offer opportunities to observe familiar species as well as seasonal visitors while highlighting the importance of maintaining green spaces within expanding urban areas.
