The shallow lake attracts impressive gatherings of large waterbirds, including Painted Storks, Asian Openbill Storks, Pelicans, Herons, and Egrets, which can often be seen feeding or roosting in groups. Along the reed beds and marshy stretches, Swamphens, White-breasted Waterhens, and Eurasian Coots move through the water and vegetation, while various Sandpipers forage along the shoreline. Kingfishers and Bee-eaters flash bright colours as they hunt insects and fish, and flocks of Parakeets and doves like Laughing Doves and Spotted Doves are commonly heard chattering among the trees.
