Summary of Walk
22 participants, from kids to adults, joined a vibrant bird trek to Pune’s Arai Hills, exploring diverse habitats—from grasslands and scrub forests to wetlands. Along the way, we spotted around 30 bird species, including colorful highlights like the Peacock, Painted Stork, Small Minivet, Tickell’s Blue Flycatcher, and Red-vented Bulbul. Raptors like the Shikra, Oriental Honey Buzzard, and Black Kite added excitement to the trail. It was a morning of trekking, learning about birds and their habitats, and discovering the joy and benefits of birdwatching.
