Alaniya Dam hosts a diverse avifauna throughout the year. Commonly observed species include the Indian Peafowl, Grey Francolin, Painted Spurfowl, River Tern, Little Cormorant, Oriental Darter, Great Cormorant, Grey Heron, Purple Heron, Indian Pond Heron, Little Egret, Great Egret, Black-winged Stilt, Red-wattled Lapwing, White-throated Kingfisher, Pied Kingfisher, Common Kingfisher, Green Bee-eater, Black Drongo, Indian Roller, Rufous Treepie, House Crow, Common Myna, Rose-ringed Parakeet, Red-vented Bulbul, Purple Sunbird, Ashy Prinia, and Indian Robin.
