Bird walk Location
Common birds of Janeshwar Mishra Park
Janeshwar Mishra Park supports a rich variety of urban birdlife with over 108+ species, making it one of Lucknow’s most enjoyable birdwatching spaces. Flocks of Yellow-footed Green Pigeons and Rose-ringed Parakeets move noisily through fruiting trees, often joined by the larger Alexandrine Parakeet and the unmistakable Indian Grey Hornbill gliding across the canopy. The park’s mornings are filled with the rhythmic calls of Brown-headed and Coppersmith Barbets, while Common Hawk-Cuckoos add their piercing summer cries from hidden branches. Shrubby edges and flowering gardens attract Red-vented Bulbuls, Red-whiskered Bulbuls, Indian White-eyes and shimmering Purple Sunbirds, bringing constant movement and colour to the landscape. Along pathways and open lawns, Oriental Magpie-Robins sing from low perches as Jungle Babblers forage noisily in groups beside Common Mynas, Laughing Doves and Spotted Doves. Overhead, Black Kites circle lazily above the park while House Crows and Large-billed Crows patrol the treetops, completing a lively urban ecosystem that makes Janeshwar Mishra Park a surprisingly rewarding destination for both casual visitors and serious birders alike.
