The mix of aquatic and terrestrial habitats provides valuable feeding and resting spaces for birds\, while the nearby vegetation and open ground add further habitat diversity. Seasonal changes in rainfall and water levels can significantly alter the extent of the wetland\, influencing the habitats available to birds throughout the year. Its location within the broader wetland landscape around Chennai makes it an interesting site for birdwatching and observing seasonal changes in wetland habitats. \n \n \n \n The area also exists within a landscape experiencing increasing human activity and development. Changes in land use\, water quality\, waste\, and disturbance can affect the condition of wetland habitats. Maintaining natural wetland edges\, water quality\, and surrounding vegetation can help preserve the ecological value of this site and support its birdlife. \n \n \n \n \n Bird Guide - Sudharsan SHe is an MSc Zoology student with a strong curiosity to learn about nature and wildlife. Trained as a naturalist\, mountaineer\, and birdwatcher\, he has participated in various bird and wildlife censuses\, gaining valuable field experience in observing and documenting species.
